The Dawn Kohansky Collection

My work is a visual meditation of beauty in moments of everyday life. Through realism, I explore the interplay of emotion into form, light and texture. Whether it’s a blooming flower, a peaceful landscape or a simple still life setup in my studio--I’m always inspired by the colors, shapes and serene stories around me.

Acrylic is my main medium--it gives me the freedom to build layers and capture detail. Each piece begins with observation, but it’s affection that guides my hand. Other mediums I enjoy include oil, pastel, watercolor, and mixed media, it allows texture and techniques that add new dimension to my work.

My goal is to create art that feels calm, warm and inviting--allowing experimentation to guide my brush. The result is not just a representation of what I see but a translation of what I feel and to share my art with others.

My multifacted career is rooted in a lifelong dedication to the arts. Received multiple awards and remains an active member of various regional art organizations. A founding member of the Board of Directors of the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, inspires a strong advocate for the arts. I will continue to follow my artistic path and new adventures.
