Frank Pandolfo

I am Frank Pandolfo, husband of 40 years, father and grandfather of 2. I am a resident of New Jersey, but I am formerly from Pennsylvania. I currently attend art courses at Cumberland Community College. I also work at the Clay College in Millville, sculpting clay.

I am proficient in oils, acrylics, drawing, pen & ink, and sculpting clay. I have ventured in many of the art shows in the area, won awards, and some of my work is in private collections.

Since becoming a resident of NJ in 1998,, I have submitted artwork and won various awards, including first and second place ribbons in the Senior State Art Show. I have also displayed artwork at the Cumberland County College, the Clay College, the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, Gloucester Art Show, Gallery 50 in Bridgeton, and other various art shows in the area. The awards I have won have kept a special place in my heart.

My goal is to create for sculptures, paintings, and drawings, and to continue entering more art shows. I am always trying to grow with my art, growing and learning, improving, and expanding into different directions with my work. As Tennyson said, “Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers.”

This work challenges me at every level of my abilities and allows for a fulfilling expression of feelings and ideas, inspired with each other and the world at large. When my work is going well, I am inspired to do more work with newer expressions. My favorite things about my work are rearranging parts of a subject, eliminating unnecessary details, and using other technical means of expression.

I make each work of art my own interpretation of reality. My purpose in art is quite simple, as Renoir said, “There is enough ugliness in the world and that it is not necessary to make more of it

The tools I most enjoy using are paintbrushes, pencils, pens, charcoal, and clay. I utilize these tools, together with my impressionist eye for color, value and mass, to create a final piece of artwork.

My favorite material is clay. It is plastic and fun to work with. I can create works that are both imaginative and wild.

I get fulfillment from creating a work of art that will give people a sense of joy and hope, as well as a view of the world often more pleasant than reality.
