Join the FOA ProgramAs part of it’s core mission to develop an appreciation of the arts in our community, the Ocean City Fine Arts League maintains a gallery, offers educational classes, demonstrations, lectures and programs. One of these programs is called “Friends of the Arts”. Membership in this program is open to all artists for a yearly fee of $35. If you are an artist who paints in oils, acrylics, watercolors or pastels, a sculptor, photographer, potter, textile artist or wood carver, the FOA program is for you! The FOA program encourages emerging artists as well as established artists and provides several unique exhibition opportunities. This program also allows us to expose the community to a broader selection of artwork. Additionally, with your yearly participation you will be helping to support the many art education and community outreach programs sponsored by OCFAL throughout the year and help us to maintain the gallery. New, beginning January 2010, the Arts League will be converting to a calendar year Friends of the Arts membership. All FOA Memberships will expire on December 31st no matter when you joined during the year. In the future all yearly memberships will begin on January 1 and expire on December 31. This will allow us to better manage and streamline the renewal process. To insure fairness to those whose memberships expire later in this year it should be noted that all membership rates have been dropped from $50 per year to $35 per year. We encourage all members to renew as soon as possible to get the most benefit from your FOA membership. As a gallery, we are unique in the large range of benefits that we offer to our members.
• Only Friends of the Arts (FOA) are permitted to rent wall/rack space in the gallery ($35/month). • FOA artists can place up to five prints in the display rack. • Each FOA artist who also rents space (or volunteers) in the gallery will have a turn as a featured artist in the front window. Each window on Asbury Ave. will showcase the work of one "Featured Artist" for two weeks on a rotating basis. There is no additional charge for this opportunity. • FOA artists can post their biography and up to 12 digital images of their work on the website at no additional charge. • FOA artists can at no additional charge add digital images of their work to the gallery screen, which plays a continuous slideshow of our FOA artist’s work and is viewed by customers browsing in our gallery. • Our gallery is staffed seven days a week* to handle the sale of your artwork. • OCFAL handles the payment of the NJ State Sales tax. • FOA artists receive a discount on all classes. • FOA artists are charged $5 per show entry. Non-FOA artists are charged $10. • * - Opening hours are adjusted in the winter. See Hours & Contact Us link for specifics.
