Joseph A. Westhoff

Intrigued with color and form since the age of five, Joe instinctively knew the path his passion would take. Once a realist, Joe’s interest in abstract art began in his early twenties. Inspired by such great artists as Kandinsky, Miro, Kugler and Frank Lloyd Wright, he quickly made the elements of color and form his own.

Family and work eventually intervened, becoming immediate priorities. To accommodate life, Joe, temporarily, put his painting aside. Now he is able to focus on making his dream a reality. Of his art, Joe says, “My paintings reflect a spiritual place and color is my language…. I’ve always been fascinated with color, searching for that “unknown” quantity; looking for new techniques and tools to produce what I see in my mind……………………To intensify my concentration, I listen to music when I paint. This produces a state of extreme serenity, allowing me to create for eight to ten hours, with no concept of time.”

With powerful execution and complex layers of color, Joe Westhoff has succeeded in creating a unique language in art.

Joseph has appeared in a variety of showings from public forums to charitable events throughout Bucks County, PA.
