An artist's work is a reflection of the culture in which it was designed and created. No one could deny that computers are at the center of 21st century technology.
They have revolutionized our society, our culture and our way of thinking.
Photography and digitalized images form the basis of ideas. I am intrigued by the pixelated image in digital art and how, with the aid of software programs, an imagecan be broken down into its most minute particles or elements similar to viewing an object under an electron microscope.
The focus of my current work is an experiment in integrating digital design into traditional abstract fine art printing, creating original hybrid work based on the elements of formal design. The computer is a creative tool that, used in conjunction with traditional fine art techniques, can produce stunning results.
Using the computer as a creative tool has allowed me to reconcile my love/hate relationship with contemporary hi-tech society. Because this technological wonder has artistic capabilities, it has merit in my world.
