Born and raised in southern New Jersey, Michael Waters studied illustration at Parson’s School of Design in New York City.
He worked for several years in New York’s Garment Center, and his fashion illustrations were published frequently in Women’s Wear Daily.
Bit by the bug of wanderlust, he abandoned his fledgling career to travel. He has made extended trips to the West Coast,
Key West, New Orleans, and Torre-Molinos, Spain, among other places.
Now back in his own backyard, he is focusing his attention on painting.
Although he enjoys working in all mediums, he particularly favors the versatility of acrylics. His work covers a variety of subject matter and he changes from non-objective to representational images with ease.
Waters has exhibited with the Galloway Cultural Arts Center, the Atlantic City Art Center, and The Society of NJ Artists in Millville. He is now a member of the OC Fine Arts League.
